Since I put the winch on mine that's what I use up front. Still chain the back though.

Won't hurt it as long as you dont leave slack in it so it can snatch on the winch clutch as the bike bounces down the road.

I don't use my winch for that, I ratchet strap both sides

I do it all the time. pull the ranger to the from of the trailer and Ive got a hole cut near the tongue that I connect to.
