I actually love the new job. I'm busy as hell, but it's interesting despite being intense and mentally exhausting.
The second half of the equation however....
Busy as hell in a new job is good. Hopefully, once the holidays are over I'll be in the same boat.
There's no way I would have been able to even start this MBA program if I was still married. She's ultra-competitive, would have wanted to get her MBA first (but never actually go through with it), would have complained about the finances, and would have complained that I wasn't doing enough household stuff, much like yours. We were also partners in my consulting business, which didn't help anything.
We have a waaaay better relationship as divorced co-parents. Plus she got remarried and has someone else to torment.
Ok, returning to on-topic conversation...

That's strange. I've only used the citation manager in Word set to APA style for my entire time in the MBA program. I've never had an issue or points knocked off for using it. I make sure to change the text "Bibliography" or "Works Cited" to "References." I make sure book titles only have the first word capitalized as per APA style. If you mention the name of the author of the citation in the text, you only have to provide the year in the in-text parenthetical reference. i.e.: Smith (2018) wrote that... For journal articles, after the page number in the Pages field, I type a period, then the doi information. For example: "20-27. doi: xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
Thanks

Same here, but was last semester in MKT 701/Darrat. My assigned TA was fanatical with formatting. Every week it was something different.

By the way, those case studies, I never got feedback on content just length and APA format stuff. I never knew what they thought about my ideas on the case studies. It made me think that they didn't care about anything other than the criteria for the paper and not the content. The paper can be substantive, but is the analysis of the case study correct?
I feel exactly the same way. I've written a few really rocking papers with (what I thought) were amazing ideas, and the responses were pretty much... "Mm... Yeah... has depth and proper citations, A." I spent real time, thought, and energy on those papers.
At the same time, I've written some really... well... papers that I didn't really feel proud of. Sometimes real life intruded too much and I couldn't devote sufficient time to writing the paper. I frankly didn't really know if I even hit anywhere near the mark and yet the responses to those papers were essentially... "Mm... Yeah... has depth and proper citations, A."
At that point it makes me wonder why I force myself to really work hard to turn in high quality work that I'm proud of vs. spending a quarter of the time to just pound out some junk. Maybe they're trying to avoid becoming a future "FedEx legend" but frankly, it's a bit disheartening.
Lately I've been wondering if I should have just spent double the money and time to do the MacQuarie GMBA. The ability to complete the LSUS degree in 10 months was one of the absolute biggest reasons I chose it over UMass Amherst or Macquarie (Top Australian school). The other two are only around 30k, obviously more than LSUS but still highly affordable (For an MBA). The problem for me was the two year programs as I am in a bit of a rush for other reasons.

I completely stopped focusing on the quality of the work I was submitting after the ISDS 710 disaster and feedback on other courses this term. It's all about speed and word count at this point. I have been using Mac dictation to pump out content both as fast as possible and as wordy as possible. I read over it to correct dication issues, throw it into Grammarly to correct basic grammatical issues, sprinkle in references, and submit it. I don't correct larger grammatical issues like passive voice nor do I try to make anything concise as it hurts word count.
This won't work for some classes where TAs are super picky (MADM 701) or the work quality actually matters (James MKT 701). With 2 weeks left and 3 assignments to go until I am completely done, I'm just over it. At this point, I'm reading between the lines of the "rubric" and doing what gets the best result as quickly as possible so I can be done.

Thank you for letting us know that MADM 701 actually cares about the content, because I'm in the same classes as you are in ISD710 and MADM760. They have me accustomed to just pump words to turn something in. Is all about the word count and reference on those classes. MADM701 is my last class, and I will be taking it on AP1 on Spring.

I wish I could do this. I actually talk about writing for the rubric many times in my "A" strategy portion of my reviews, but it's difficult for me to personally do that. Haha. I want to do good work, although ISDS 710 has really ruined a lot of things for me. Before the whole fiasco, I was stressed but still motivated in the course and the program. Since that crap I've contemplated quitting a number of times and have almost no motivation to do the work for either of my classes.

For some of us, we're out for good.
I'm having a hard time focusing on this synthesis paper for MADM 760. The "senioritis" is strong right now.

I totally hear you. I'm learning absolutely nothing in that course at this point. We're basically paying to get filler credit. The original course structure was to pay for credit to take a free class anyone can take on technology rarely used outside of academia. They simply changed it mid-term to pay for credit to read half of a borderline unethical "marketing" textbook and submit some case study busy work.
On the plus side, the new ISDS 710 "work" isn't exactly difficult.
Don't quit, though. Push through and just get it over with! Your remaining classes will not be this disorganized and change completely in the middle of the term. Once it's all behind us it really won't matter.

I noticed that evaluations for MADM 760 went out, but evaluations for ISDS 710 didn't. Interesting.

From what I understand reading the instructions, we are allowed to copy and paste skill builder content in with no penalty. We're also allowed to remove or shuffle the sections in his template as we see fit, as long as it supposedly makes a cohesive paper.
According to the rubric, 4000 words is "A" level work, which honestly is only 1k more than the skill builder work I've turned in. "A" level work also includes 250 words per section (same as skill builders), mentioning 4+ class topics per section, and tying each section to a personal story or some sort.
I'm not expecting a big change in my grades for this last group project and skill builder. As far as I can tell, as long as I turn a synth paper in that exceeds the rubric's "acceptable" minimums (3000 words, 180 words per section), I'll have an A in the class.

Same here for a different MADM 760. We have about a week left in the entire program.
I am one of those people who goes way over and above the minimum because I just can't stand to produce a lesser work product. Then, I made a counter-intuitive mistake and calculated my grades should I not do anything else in the class ( I would make a high B) and then a few scenarios where I could do half-butt work and still keep my 4.0. I figured it would be easy to do the half-butt work and be done with this week. But, I found that it is the source of procrastination. So, I recommend no one do that your last term and keep your nose to the grindstone and then look up when you are done and be done.
Somehow, I need to figure out a way to motivate myself to get it done.

I'm also interested in any information related to Huang for Acct 701. Seems like Ambrosio is well liked but Huang may be new...nothing on RateMyProfessors, either. Any thoughts are appreciated!
