So, I'm trying to choose the best way forward for the Spring sessions. I've finished MADM 701, and I'm about to wrap up MADM 760 and ISDS 705. I plan on taking at least 3 courses to remain full time for the semester. I wanted to go ahead and knock out MKT 701 as a single class for AP1 and then double up some combo for AP2. Currently, there are no AP1 MKT slots. Any suggestions from the veterans in here on what to potentially double up this session or next would be greatly appreciated!

I forgot to mention that I'm pursuing an entrepreneurship specialization with ISDS 715 as my 3rd elective. Again, any suggestions for Spring would be greatly appreciated!

That would be awesome (your generosity, not the class itself, haha)!
I'm currently in Meeks' class, trying to figure out how I'm going to write about 11,000+ words from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6.

If you look at the course rotations (you can find it in the MBA Resource Center in Moodle) you'll see every class planned for each term. If there is a class you want, but it is filled up... make yourself a reminder to check again on the payment-due deadline. Every seat that is in someone's unpaid shopping-cart will magically appear for your registration until they are snatched back up again.

I see the announcement for FIN740 actually recommended ISDS 702 as a good class to take first. I really think the school push this as a preliminary class to be taken as early in the program as possible.
ISDS702 used to be core course. It's a fantastic course, one of my favorites, and a shame they dropped it for ISDS705.

i dont' have a lot of time. so i'll have to re-evaluate, but everything is full for now. i'll have to keep my eyes open or just go to 1 of those for ap1. i've been trying to save your review posts to a word doc.
Glad to know my reviews are helping you.
I would keep checking every 2-3 days for new sessions to open up. I've noticed that oftentimes once classes fill up, they often open up another session of it. I also do a horrible thing, where I will register for an extra class (you can register for 3 per session max and 5 per semester max) that I might need and drop the extra one later. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and so classes pop back in on a regular basis as a result.
To be honest, if Darrat has fixed the format of his class (I made recommendations in my class survey), it will be highly manageable. The realy problem is just the terrible way the workload is balanced for the term. It was actually LESS work overall than MKT 705 or MADM 760 (MCLaughlin), but the other two classes are so much more manageable because the workload is very well spread out. There really is no good reason to have a schedule where 2 out of 7 weeks are worth about 50% of all points.

Thanks for the advice, NSA! That's exactly what I had to do for Fall AP2. I'm just trying to figure out a contingency plan if my primary plan (MKT 701 for Spring AP1) doesn't pan out. I've seen advice such as take ISDS 702 before FIN as well as take ACCT before FIN so I was trying to see if there were any suggestions in that regard pertaining to my situation (classes left to take and my specialization). I know some people in here might subscribe to the "you're in a masters program, figure it out on your own" mindset, but that contradicts the whole point of this thread (in my opinion). There's nothing wrong with employing lessons learned by others, i.e. learning via modeling, in this program or in the business world.
By the way, that's an interesting username, especially the first half...
Also, Baroq, your reviews are very helpful!

Have you been able to find any information on ISDS 715? I’m debating between that or MADM 751. I would prefer to take ISDS 715 but have seen not so great things about the teacher. Curious if anyone has taken it/heard anything.

It's Saturday and there are no case analysis grades posted for ISDS 710, and the discussion post grades just barely posted. Normally this wouldn't be a big concern this late in the session, but since he changed formats midway through, I can't determine what sorts of expectations he has for the writing assignments.
Discussion posts are easy, but his case analyses follow a different format than what I've been doing so far, so it would help to know how we did on the first one before submitting, or even writing the next one.

Unfortunately, I have not. From what I can tell, there are only about 3 posts out of all 358 pages that reference ISDS 715. None of those 3 give any significant information or insight into the class or professor(s).

There is a Facebook group called LSUS MBA Program. If you get on there and search for ISDS 715, you'll see quite a bit more discussion than we have here.
People also upload copies of class syllabus for the various instructors and classes so you get an idea of course expectations before committing. Good resource you should check out.

I've spent 20+ years working with the agency as an analyst and consultant. Very interesting work but I'm ready for something new after 20 years of the same thing.
My big problem is that I trapped myself inside glass walls. I make a good salary in my specific job field and industry but trying to move into the civilian world means taking a 60-70% pay cut; something I'm not willing to do even though I really want the change.
I know I can successfully apply 20+ yrs experience in analysis and management to any number of companies and positions but is hard for a company to offer a strong mid or upper-level salary to someone with zero work in their industry. Earning the MBA is my way of filling in gaps in my own knowledge while simultaneously beefing my resume a bit so I can minimize my pay cut when switching careers. Whether it works or not... I don't know. I have no business contacts with anyone outside Govt. Intel world -- so I feel it's an uphill battle in unfamiliar territory :-)

Yes—this is nuts to me. So now I’ve turned in 2 case analyses and have to cross my fingers that I did it right the first time since I have no feedback. Ugh.

@dilly time. Wow on the Facebook group. Had no idea this existed. This. Fantastic.
Don’t get me wrong. This thread is good but this is even more info. Thanks.

2 of the questions were definitely the same. I bombed this test. Her questions made no sense.

I had 2 questions the same as well. I didn't find the test itself particularly difficult though.
I've gotten the same exact score on all 5 quizzes
