SkipDigs,

The case study is okay. For me, it's just a matter of organizing it in a way that will answer all of the questions he wants answered. Like providing a summary of the company issues. The part I dread the most is writing the three pages, but once you get past the first paragraph things should flow. Just takes some thinking because he wants you to approach it as a marketing manager.

I'm also in MKT701 and going to be getting going on the case study. So far the course has been a breeze, I'm hoping the grading for the case study is the same as it is for the weekly discussion posts. I'm not sure how much they can critic you when there's no real "teaching" in this course.

I'm also curious if anyone has taken the exam or not, would love to get an idea of how intense it will be (or not) before diving into it.

Just took the MKT 701 exam. I missed 3. It was all from the ppt slides. No clue which ones I missed. I read every ppt deck at least 5 times and created outlines of each. The red highlighted portions of the slides do not apparently mean much since my questions were from all over.

So how exactly does Proctorio work? I've not taken any courses with proctoring so far so I'd like to get an idea of what to expect before I tackle the MKT exam

So I just log in through Moodle to take the exam. The site does a quick system check, show your i.d. and the exam starts. I did not have to move my camera around to show my work area or anything. They apparently watch bodily movements and record sound. At one point I needed a calculator, but the proctorio is full screen with no calculator. I had a blank sheet of paper on my desk with a pencil and showed it to the camera front and back before writing on it. I then went into chat to ask about a calculator. She said the instructor did not indicate to make it available. Unless you enter chat, there is no contact with anyone, its just records your session. I did find myself thinking of every single bodily movement, eye twitch, etc.. which was kind of a source of stress at least for me. Other than that it was a painless process.

I used a laptop with 3gb RAM. The system said I should probably not use that computer because it needs 4gb. That annoyed me because I passed the system check last week with that laptop. I used it anyway and it was fine.

Ahhh it won't be bad then. The exam itself wasn't too bad though?

Note that Proctorio requests a camera sweep of your room partway through exams. It's annoying, because you have to stop whatever you were doing and do that immediately. The only times I haven't had to do that on a Proctorio exam is when the test was very short (like five to ten minutes). My understanding from a previous class is that the sessions are available for a teacher (or class coach) to review, but that it's also being automatically processed for obvious issues (like your face disappearing or something).

I don't ever think about proctors or whatever while taking a test, so it doesn't bother me at all whether it's record/review like Proctorio or a live proctor.

No not bad, its all from the ppt. Just read the slides and understand it and be able to recognize differences among terms and types of whatever. I had like 50 minutes left when I was done. No interruptions to pan the room or anything.

I always thought Proctorio was a cool program and added a some credibility to the program. Since you could take the test whenever I never found it an inconvenience.

Hi Everyone!

I was just accepted into the online MBA program and wanted to pop in and say hello. When I was researching programs, I found this thread and have been reading up on the program the past few weeks. Gained lots of great insight from everyone and it helped with my decision to apply to LSUS. Look forward to participating on the thread in the future.

This ACCT class is bizarre. The first 3 questions & answers were identical word for word from the text. Now he's changed the answers so they are not.

Really? I had no issues finding any of the answers in the text by searching

Starting to think people don't realize they can do that. He didn't penalize anyone who already took and I hope he doesn't any yet to take it... can't penalize someone for giving the answer straight from the required textbook.

I'm still waiting to see what he does for the mid-term. He's supposed to inform us this weekend how it will be.

Does anyone know about honors at graduation? Is it worth it not sleeping to get straight A's in the program? Will they put honors on your diploma?

According to the graduation paperwork, honors designations are awarded for undergraduate degrees only.

There is, apparently, a Beta Gamma Sigma (business degree honor society) chapter that you may be eligible to join with a higher GPA.

Other than that...GPA is probably not hugely relevant to anything other than bragging rights and/or future academic program admittance.
