I haven't taken the mid term quiz or the blue ocean quiz yet. I'm still trying to finish up this brief. Any of you guys groups make the top 10? Ours was in the top 30%, but didn't crack the top 10.

Not even close lsusports. Bottom 30%. I smell an 80.

I may re-read the chapter summaries 1 - 5 before tackling the mid term. Just wondering if that's even worth it.

I took the midterm and blue round quiz today. Blue round quiz was really simple. I didn't do any review for the midterm, being that there was so much information she could have utilized and it was only bonus points, I decided to use my time elsewhere and was still able to do respectable on the midterm without the review. Our group was in the top 50% but not even close to the top 10. We also went down more in blue round 1

I've taken Blue Round and midterm quiz. Both aren't bad at all. We were in top 50% but not sure how that'll look; I'm thinking a 90%? As far as simulation, we went down a good bit but we expected it due to so much in marketing expenses of a new product.

I just wanted to give my thanks to the many contributors on this board. The content of which ultimately helped me to make the decision to attend LSUS for the online MBA program. Cheers!

Is anyone doing a Finance Concentration or has taken FIN 710 and 720? Thinking about switching to Fin. concentration. Hsieh appears to be the only one teaching these courses in the near future. Is he as terrible as his professor ratings suggest?

I am getting really annoyed with the grading on the MADM 701 discussion forums. They keep taking points off for "spelling and grammar," when I know i've written everything properly. I made a freaking 33 on my ACT in English

Brent, I am taking that route as well. I am signed up for both classes currently and on moodle there is some info. Seems like only 4 test for FIN 710 since it only lists 4 modules. But I can't be sure with the limited info. I hope the class is similar to what Vines does.

Brees, how did you study for Midterm?

MKT 701, for the brief... she says to "Insert a copy of the strategy canvas associated with PATH 1 (includes all teams) " Did you all just insert a screen shot or export of the value curves that shows your path and the average? what does she mean by includes all teams?

I have completed all but 710. I took 720 with him and it was a little difficult. I had a high B, but that's because the weight of the exams were setup in a way that my low grade on exam one prevented me from getting an A. (Even with a 100 on the next 3 exams.) I'm taking 710 with him next. I don't think the class was that bad, I just didn't study well enough the first exam. 701 and 730 were with Vines and he is probably the best professor in this entire program, in my opinion. I would rather study hard for his exams than do all the busy work in other courses. It comes down to preference. He isn't easy, but he also doesn't care about the fluff. He wants to feel you're learning and explaining things in your own words is what he likes. (At least, that has been my experience.)

Meant to add that Hsieh does multiple choice exams that are timed. He does give you his own guide that walks you through all concepts and problems.

Does anyone know if MADM 710 with Kungu is difficult? I'm thinking about doubling up with that and ECON 705 next time.

Would MADM 720 be easier than 710?

I did well this week. 98, but I had a note about not using I feel or I believe. Also, my APA is still wrong. I've used a generator before and recently I've used Purdue OWL and did it from scratch. So, I'm not sure what to fix. I emailed and made sure to say that I'm not so worried about the point value as I am understanding where I'm going wrong. Saying something is incorrect without feedback does me no good. Where am I off? Lol

I know someone who has taken Kungu. Made an A, but there is a bit of writing to do. I've heard people dread MADM 720, but rarely hear about 710 with Kungu. That could also be because it's an elective. I'll see what I can find out for you.

They said it wasn't hard, but a lot of writing. They had team members they worked with to complete a paper. Weekly forum discussions of 1000 words and weekly chapter reflection of 1000 words. I don't have any info on 720, buy maybe others here do.

Lsu741852, thanks for the info. So all his exams are weighed differently? Were the exams proctored?

They were weighted weird in 720, I'm not sure if they will be in 710. They were not proctored, hopefully that hasn't changed.

I'm in the FIN Specialization. I won't need to take 710 due to some prior courses before the recent degree audit. I will be taking FIN 701 with Vines in Fall AP1. But I've taken FIN 720 with Hsieh and FIN 730 with Vines. Vines is great. Hsieh was an arse. 720 is my only B in the program. He basically posts the material and that's it. You know when tests are but he doesn't hold chat sessions and when you ask a question, he gives a vague response. That class dealt with international markets and valuing currencies, exchange rates, etc. Lucky for me I still had some old notes from my FIN classes at Nicholls to help supplement but for those that weren't finance majors, the class was brutal. The 1st exam I made around a 77% which was the class average. My remaining 3 exams were A's. Just couldn't rebound from the 1st exam to bring it up to an A.

I skipped Lin for Hayati based on the reviews and am in 702 right now. It's a great course so far and Hayati is reasonably responsive. I'm kind of surprised that they dropped this as a requirement, as it's a really interesting and useful course.

I'm not too happy about what I'm reading regarding 701, MKT, and 752 right now though. I still need to take these classes and it sounds like at least for 701 and MKT the professors are horrible!

We had the same experience! My only B as well. I did blame myself for not studying hard for exam 1, but then again the class average was low. I think I had a 74 or something around there. I like Vines much better, but I prefer Hsieh and math over all this writing I'm doing in MADM. So, all Finance for me! :)
