Been trying to get in a very selective school.

One lab has offered but its so damn far.

ETA: don't judge a book by its cover. There are no advanced learning schools in my parish. Zero.

so with all the guys they have, and finally defending state champs, Calvary Baptist still (in all likelyhood) is behind Evangel?

What do you mean by that?

And FWIW Calvary probably would have lost to ECA this past year, but this coming year it could be close. Too bad they don't play. Isn't Evangels QB a freshman?

Oh no way that happens. Evangel can always win a bunch of games because they run a good scheme for their players. They will score a lot of point. As of late they struggle with more physically imposing teams since they don't have the size they once had, but they are still a major program. That being said, if they are anything higher than 12th they have been highly overrated.

Maybe should be ranked a little higher. Calvary looks to be pretty strong, especially on defense.

They play West Monroe about mid-season. A lot of the Evangel coaches are now at Calvary and know WM pretty well.

WM is supposedly moving to the Auburn style offense which is supposed to be more diverse.

Its going to be a good game for both teams. I think WM wins by a TD.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. What made WM so great was ball control offense and great defense. But my guess is that Belton is more of a pocket passer/zone read kind of guy.

it tells me that they no longer expect to have the best talent in 5A every year like they used to... ball control offense leaves you vulnerable to just getting shut down and shut out in 2014 football.

Acadiana through the playoffs scored 35, 49, 27, 35, and 77 points... and Parkway 41, 52, 49, 28, and 41.

You made my point. Acadiana played 4 of the highest scoring teams in 5-A in the playoffs in Ponchatoula, Barbe, Destrehan and Parkway. The first 3 scored a total of 31 points. Barbes offense was only on the field for 12 minutes. Destrehans was probably less than that. Now with Parkway, they scored 41 points ONLY because everytime Acadiana had the ball, they would score quickly. I mean 77 points is a TD every 4 minutes. That's ridiculous. But still, the basis for their offense is to keep the other teams offense off the field for as long as possible. And it works when they don't turn the ball over.

You know Auburn's offense is the option, just out of the spread right? Look at their rushing stats vs passing stats. Same WM ball control offense, just not out of two tights and a wing.

Eta: Auburn threw for 173 yards per game and rushed for 328.4 yards per game.
