What was then Northeast was not a bad place to do grad school. I got my masters there many moons ago. Good faculty at the time. They pretty much gave me what I needed to survive my doctoral program.

I moved up to S'port from Baton Rouge a little over a year ago for my fiance to finish up med school. It absolutely sucks. I could only compare it to living in Russia and being banished to Siberia.

I grew up in South LA and got more things stolen from me when I was living in a supposedly "safe" area of Shreveport than BR or NOLA.
