Yeah. Peja too. I'm probably one of the most pro player posters here and even I think 5, 6, 7 year contracts are a little absurd.

All it took was a dumb or desperate GM to screw up a team's roster for years. As I understand the new CBA, only the Knicks can offer Melo a five year deal. Everyone else can only offer four. Correct?

Correct.
I'm a little unsure on the 5 year rules, but I think teams can only have one 5 year deal at a time.
