Maybe, but "top IB analysts at a good shop" don't come from LSU. As far as the SEC is concerned there are probably only a few from Vandy.

I have a friend who recently finished their 2 yr analyst contract working for Goldman and stayed on board. Is an LSU alum.

Your comment is pretty off base. Know LSU guys and gals at some of the biggest bluge brackets and elite boutiques in the top coverage groups (M&A, nat res, TMT, etc).
While LSU certainly does not mint bankers like some schools do, there are LSU grads in great spots on WS.
