Or he could have done damage by talking to the cops without an attorney. Pretty sure they were going to charge and arrest him regardless. He had nothing to gain by going to that completely voluntary meeting.

Who says he had to go talk to them without an attorney? Also, he could have not been arrested and suspended from the team. Obviously, there was something to gain.

Every year LSU players get suspended. There isn't a press conference daily. Miles doesn't say how long. When he is kicked off or allowed back you will see it everywhere. Until then just calm down.

He certainly didn't help himself by avoiding talking to the cops about the incident. Regardless of how outrageous the claims against him are, it's easier to believe if the other side refuses to give their side of the story.

Why would you voluntarily talk to the police when you haven't been arrested or haven't been charged with a crime? Seems smarter to give your attorney the maximum amount of time to gather witnesses and get supporting evidence of innocence if they do actually arrest or charge

This was discussed in the other thread. Mills would've been arrested either way with the allegations against him at the time, so missing the police meeting was the right thing to do. It's not about "getting your story out there" or anything like that, it's about not giving the police or prosecutor anything new that they could use against you in court. Trying to clear your name like that can get you into more trouble, even if that's not your intent. Refusal to speak =/= an indication of guilt.

haha yea we'll see how long it takes for Adams to take his spot. All I'm saying is if he is playing in the Bama game, they will go at him just as they did last year. Peace out!

This. Talking to the police will never do you any favors.

That's a Bama fan guaranteed. The fact that he had to mention Bama is a perfect tipoff.

Mills may be LSU's best option, but he got burned, alot...Don't know if it was assignment issues, or what, but when you see the other team catching TD's last year, they seemed to always be on Mills...

A couple of you guys seem to be familiar with legal proceedings such as these, obviously it varies but is there a timeline that would be "standard" or expected in situations like this?

I guess what I'm asking is this: is there any way to guess on how long it may be until we know whether or not Mills will be charged with anything?
