Spent time at Quantico, Lejeune, Cherry Point, and Beaufort. Never made it to Pendleton.

Dreamed of Marine Air prior to going Navy Surface Nuke ... because in the mid-90's ... well, didn't seem like there was anyone to fight. (good call, huh?) So ... why not see the world and be stationed at much nicer places?

Some of the finest men and women that I have served with have been Marines.

I have always been very proud to be part of the Navy-Marine Corps TEAM.

I'm an old man. Relatively anyway. Desert Storm was a long time ago, and in the bigger picture of wars, it wasn't very long.

It's a young man's game. And something we can all agree on (hopefully) is that although I'm not a hero, the young men and women in harm's way are the greatest Americans to ever walk the face of the earth. Period. I see some National Guardsmen on occasion in the morning buying coffee. They will never have to pay if I'm there. What they are asked to do, and do, is something few people could ever imagine. Against the military action? Fine, you have that right. Against your young men and women in the armed forces? Leave.

my friends got stuck in LeJeune

That said, I agree, really respect the marines as well. I'm still a navy-first guy with my dad serving back in the day
