find it hard to believe in a 12K/16T league I would have been the 1st to try a rebuild.

didn't have much choice at the time. remember this was the shite squad even Toula wouldnt touch.

who knew that big Papi would still be going strong tho, 4 years later

I inherited a pretty bad team too...my first year was a total rebuild.

Not as severe as yours though.

Mine has paid off though

Gio is back today.

Which means somebody else on my team will get hurt today.

Since only 6 teams are trying shouldn't we just start completely over from scratch like people want to do with the basketball league? Or is that not a consideration here due to the people it would hurt by doing so?

more than 6 teams are trying. I'd guess a solid 10 are still in the playoff race.

I'm 2.5 games out of 6th but I'm not trying. Sorry, I don't know how to will AJ Burnett to 10ks and 1 ER over 8IP each game.

Rick, you are trying, but you're fat.

Honk, barry has no intentions of making the playoffs this year. He just traded me his catcher for a pick.

I'm in the playoff race because the bottom teams are THAT bad.

I would be fine with a farm team. Would need to be gradually implemented, because it would overcompensate some teams. Why would anyone be against it?

what's the answer then.. contraction? less keepers? boot the owners who aren't trying?

think most of the league's committed, at least to a 2/3yr rebuild. not our fault owners like RyMac continually waste away picks and ruin any chance to actually rebuild/compete down the road

I'm not even rebuilding

I'll have as keepers as of today

C- Norris
1B- Freeman
2B- Pedroia
OF- Cespedes
OF- Rasmus
OF- Blackmon

SP- Paxton
SP- Bauer
SP- Heaney

That's 9 guys who are in the MLB. Id use 3 spots for prospects. I'm stashing a bunch and panning for gold. Whoever shows promise I'll keep

thats what I did my first year

I had a full roster of MLB guys and then my whole bench was MiLB guys.

I actually traded all the MiLB guys before the next season (Heyward and Strasburg among them)

Why is it stupid? And what does my other leagues have to do with this one?

If it's easy to win without worrying about prospects, it seems it would have zero impact on your team.

If the entire structure of the league is changed to make it to where you NEED to be prospect conscious then it most definitely impacts my team.

I am not interested in prospects enough to research dudes that wont be up for 4 years.

Gyno, that's what I did in the past. I always had mlb guys as starters with a few lotto tickets underneath.

Rasmus was on pace for like 35/120 before he got hurt. That's a loaded lineup in a nice park.
