Knew this when Oldman Bush stopped the first time. It was the reason he did.

These people have been fighting for the last 5000 years. All and all, that is what they do and just don't know anything else to do. Think about it, one kid is just trying to take over the sand box, but there are 3-4 other kids that want the same thing.

Sort of like America before the Europeans arrived. The Indians tribes are just fighting with each other, just SOP, only these tribes have machine guns and explosives.

At least everyone one is working together to stop them. Special bonding moment, could be good if they succeed.

Global politics is such a complicated thing, I wouldn't be surprised if all parties were working both sides

What actually happened that everyone is leaving out is that this is the fault of the dumbasses we put in power over there... They kicked all the "extremists" out of the government and military because their leader doesn't like them. Thus, a revolt. What the hell did they expect...?

We left, they are taking over. $10/gallon gas on it's way to a station near you.

The only thing I heard on Meet the Press yesterday was that the US has "interest" over there, they said it about 4 times when kicking around this topic. Is that media speak for the oil yall are talking about? Consequently, is the oil the only reason why we are still there? I mean this is the longest engagement in my lifetime and I really want to know why we are still there. The hate is real over there.

This question to to anyone with an answer....

What exactly would Iran do here? Would they send their guys across the border to wipe their asses out? Their Revolutionary Guard guys are pretty damn good, right?

That's just it, we're not "still there". Obama pulled the last of our troops out of Iraq over the objections of all the experts and generals telling him that pulling them out would result in the exact thing that is now happening. Obama succeeded in snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
