You can wear boat shoes. I just wouldn't want to wear them for the amount of walking you will be doing. If you are comfortable in them then they are okay

Boat shoes are fine as long as you know you will be comfortable in them standing and walking a lot.

your feet will thank you if you do not wear them, standing for long periods of thime in june with no water around = not boat shoes
