addai was a beast and a first rounder. My favorite was Hester. He always trucked people and he always fell forward. Oh and he never fumbled....except in his first game

Toefield and Ally were hurt so much it is hard to put them over Davis and Addai (even with the fumbles)
He didn't really miss that much time, but he just always seemed to get hurt at the end of the year. In three years he started 24 games and played in 31.
Davis and Toefield was a great combo. If I had Addai/Toe as my top two...I'd have Davis a VERY close third, but I couldn't say someone was wrong for having him above Toefield.
DD's return and pass catching ability was something LSU hadn't had in a while at the RB position.

Who said it was about an individual season? The question is asking for the best back.
I was saying my definition of "best back" is the back who most helped his team to win games. Not necessarily best season statistically, but which performances stood out to me the most over those years.

Joseph Quantavious Addai is the only answer here.

Addai and Davis both had excellent careers at LSU, and moved on well to the NFL. I just don't think either had as great an individual season as the 3 backs I mentioned.
Davis was excellent, his Sugar Bowl performance vs IL was off the charts. Alley B pre-knee injury would be my #1, followed by DD.

Robert Toomer. He played from like 1990 to 2008 it seemed like

I'm going with Ridley then Addai or Hester. Davis and Charles Scott in top 5 as well.
The "What Could've Been" RB of choice was Keiland Williams's calves.

Ridley did more with less then anyone else prior to him. Teams loaded the box against us
And that 2010 OL wasn't a talented group and didn't create a lot of space for Ridley to run.
Addai played with some very stong OLs.
Charles Scott was a great RB too.

Keiland was the original Michael Ford, in that he ruled the short side option.

Oops. Hill not in the stated time period.

Charles Scott.
I'm pretty surprised to see nobody else put him

Alley Broussard when he was healthy and in shape. That Ole Miss game

Dude is #1 for me. He was really coming into his own before he got hurt. Would have been a 1st Round pick and one of our all time greats, imo. Had freakish agility for his size

Ridley and Davis
- Two of our all-time hardest runners
- Great special teamers (Davis on returns and Ridley kick-off coverage in '08. He and Ryan Baker busted some heads on kick-off coverage in '08. Some of the few good memories.)

Too many variables-who had the good o-line, good QB , wrs, etc.. All mentioned above were great. More to come.

inb4 Richard Murphy--best prospect.
