I love my **free** Google Voice. You can get 337/985/504 numbers
you can get better numbers than that. I had a new jersey number where the last 6 digits were my last name, but I gave it up because I never used GVoice

magic jack works ok if you are using it for light purposes. if you are using your phone a lot, I would recommend a better service. Vonage has some issues with it, and is not unlimited. I use comcast service since they gave it to me for free. No issues with that service, but comcast does suck a bag of dicks.
