I assume you want the laptop because you travel a lot. Otherwise, you're throwing your money away on an underpowered machine.


I am thinking anywhere from 1000-1500. Yes, I would like to bring it with me when I travel.

There was a brief discussion of gaming laptops in this price range in the PC thread (page 847), and this $1399 MSI laptop was linked: LINK

It has the best GPU for the price range, and that's what you need to pay the most attention to, with all else being secondary. RAM is unimportant as long as there is at least 8GB (and that's pretty standard in gaming laptops). There is a 15" version of that same laptop for the same price as well.

If you want to go cheap, 860M GPU minimum if you want any real longevity out of the machine.

Avoid the Lenovos with SLI, but this one seems OK for the price: LINK
