It was a game in 1971 when Mac was playing Paul Lyons more then Bert Jones. My dad was a grad student at the time and I think we sat in the student section.

He did much better on the next game, the 1973-74 Sugar Bowl all-time classic between Notre Dame and Alabama in old Tulane stadium. I hate both teams but it's a great game to have gone to.

LSU defeated Ole Miss in 1980. I think Alan Risher was the QB for LSU.

September 7, 2013 vs. UAB. There was a lightning delay. PA announcer told everyone to take cover, but no one listened.
Highlight was a 109-yard return of a missed field goal by Odell Beckham. We beat Auburn to it

2004 -

LSU vs. Oregon State...

So I'm from Texas (Austin) and had only visited Louisiana twice before (once as a family trip to Nola and once for that early testing thing.) I had heard ridiculous stories about the football and partying (I picked LSU because playboy ranked #1 party school and we had just won a MNC and... they give out hella scholarships.)

As many of you remember it started pouring rain beforehand. The stadium smells of bourbon and all of a sudden kids start streaking across the field during the rain delay. Was a ridiculous game we end up winning by 1 pt (if I remember correctly.)

Anyways, it was at that point I realized all the stories were true and this school really was fricking nuts and I had found some of the best people in the world. I would not trade any of my LSU experience (minus maybe the getting arrested at an Auburn/LSU gymnastics game) for anything. Best people/friends anyone could ask for.

/frickingcrazycoonasses

(oh, and I learned how to pronounce Hebert soon after.)

ETA: you crazy coonasses

ETA2: frick actually, my parents (and I) lived in College Station in the early 90s and I saw them play at Kyle Field. Good news, my family are all Longhorns so they had me rooting for LSU in that game (I guess I was 7.) It would have been '91 or '93 and we lost.

Still hate TAMU.

1999 Auburn game. LSU got whipped 41-7 and we stayed the entire game. After this game my dad swore he would never go to another LSU game again. Then in 03 we went to the Florida game and after Skyler Green returned that punt for a TD we thought the Tigers would stomp the gators but ended up losing 19-7. Once again my dad swore he would never go to another LSU game again. He's a pessimist
