That's another thing. I watch aussie racing 4-5 nights a week and i've seen 2 break downs in the last 2 years. 2. 2. total. And one of them didn't even die just came up lame.
how can they race more and break down less? much much less.
america is pretty much the only country with the horse break down problem. It's no where near this high everywhere else. why is that?

Maybe Horse racing media doesn't educate (or can't) fly by night fans who only watch 3 races.
Its amazing to me how little the old course records are brought up. For example in the Secretariat thread, its stated he would have crushed this field.
I think there is a misconception by casual observers that horses today, like athletes in most sports are better today than yesteryear, which is not true. This leads to the idea that something mischievous is going on, when its really what y'all say, shitty horses.
