There is a reason America stands alone in the world

I am at my daughter's soccer practice and this British coach made reference to air condition as "air con." We have a ton of international students from two universities in town. I told him I had a better abbreviation than "air con." I told him in America we call it A/C. He said "cool but I still prefer air con." Very British of him. What can you do?

Remind him we bailed them out two separate times last century or it would be "Klimaanlage" to him after he came up speaking German and his mom and grandma enjoyed eating raw Wehrmacht sausages....
