Same thing, right?

Smoking in public kills innocent people thru second and third hand exposure.

Drunk drivers kill innocent non-drunk people as well.

Whose rights are more important: 1) The smoker's right to expose non-smokers to potentially deadly carcinogens, or 2) the non-smoker's right to breathe public air that is free of tobacco smoke?

You can chose not to go to to bars or restaurants that allow smoking. Why can't people understand that? Why do we need the gooberment to tell a private business owner what he can or cannot do in his business?

I hope you are the first person to die of "third hand exposure".

Study Finds No Link Between Secondhand Smoke And Cancer

A large-scale study found no clear link between secondhand smoke and lung cancer, undercutting the premise of years of litigation including a Florida case that yielded a $350 million settlement.

The study found no statistically significant relationship between lung cancer and exposure to passive smoke, however. Only among women who had lived with a smoker for 30 years or more was there a relationship that the researchers described as “borderline statistical significance.”

The evidence for this is minimal, certainly not enough to base policy on.

It does smell like shite and makes one wildly less attractive, though.
