Nope. If all the options were exhausted and this was the last ditch effort for it to stop, then no...I have no problem whatsoever.
And threatening the other kids on the bus? Any problem with that or are you fine with that too?

If I was the father of the 11 year old, two things would happen. I would beat his you know what for bullying a kid that is autistic. However, more importantly, I would prolly kill the grown man that put his hands on my kid

Dad should have paid a 14 YO to kick the 11 YOs arse.

Umm... Working with the parents of the bully, talking to people at the school. You know normal adult solutions to problems that you have no idea whether or not the man tried. You know the obvious stuff. But you go on thinking that the first solution is beating up the purportedly handicapped.

I'm fine with that as well.
If nothing is done by teachers or principals or bus drivers and it continues, I'll threaten every last one of those little bastards to protect my child.

Where we defend killer dogs but root for the beating of an 11 year old kid.

I don't know if shoving him into the wall was the best solution. He should have bent him over his knee, exposed his bare arse, and whipped the shite out if him with a belt.
Then they would have just added sexual assault to his assault and battery charges.
An adult should not get physical with a stranger's kids. From the account in the story the father didn't have firsthand knowledge of what happened between the two kids as he had to have his son point out who the alleged bully was. Completely irresponsible parenting by the father and he should clearly be convicted of some sort of assault and battery based on the info in the story.
How about get the kids name, find his parents and have an adult discussion about what is going on? Maybe at least try that first? Unless there is more history here, the father looks like a hothead dumbass who should suffer the consequences.

I'm strangely on the dad's side. I can't imagine the emotiosn that run through you when your child is being picked on and it gets to a point where that's the solution.
However, I don't think physical violence on an 11 year old is ever an answer. I thinl if the dad would have walked on the bus and verbally lost his shite, the kid would have been terrified.
However this:
is a tad bit far.
And this:
makes me wonder how much of the story is true.

Police say Hurd, 44, also warned that he would kill the 11-year-old boy
is a tad bit far.
And this:

The melee was not captured on videotape and the bus driver didn’t get involved. In fact, the bus driver never even bothered to report the incident
makes me wonder how much of the story is true.

Sounds like the kid may have not had any parents except his aunt. I can see exactly why the dad would do this. It's not like he totally beat the shite out of the kid. He slammed him against the wall. When your kid who is autistic comes home crying/sad because they can't handle a bully you have to do something. The kid already has it bad enough. I hope the dad gets a judge who will see that. If this kid was getting hit on at school by the 11 year old, then the 11 year old deserved what he got. It wasn't some terrible arse beating, but it fixed the problem.

This.
We can't have adults smacking around other people's 11 year old kids, no matter how much the little turds may deserve it. We surely can't have them entering a school environment (a school bus is an extension of the school) to do it.
That having been said... I have no problem with the dad teaching his son (or any other kids who are friends with his son) the proper methods for the KIDS to knock the snot out of the little bully, if the bully insists on his behavior.
I understand the desire to defend your child. And, I get the school is useless when it comes to such issues. And... I'm sure having a child with autism makes it all the harder to handle.
But we just can't have parents going and beating up other people's children. We just can't.

Do any of you read?

With that said, I would go through other options before I would take matters into my own hands.
....IF ALL OPTIONS ARE EXHAUSTED AND NOTHING IS DONE.......THEN WHAT CAN YOU DO?
....and yes, one of my options would pay a older kid to beat the shite out of him if my autistic boy can't protect himself.

I'm not fine with it if he just went in there and beat the shite out of him.
Now, if he's warned the kids parents and the kids parents have done nothing, then we're going to have a problem on our hands between adults.

Exactly. I'm not saying I would find this little bastard kid before I would go through the proper channels.
All I'm saying is that if every option, including talking with kid's parents, are exhausted, then it's time to take matters into your own hands.

This is like "Oh won't someone think of the children."
You don't even know what the 11 year old did to bully the son but it's ok to threaten a whole bunch of other kids who apparently didn't do anything. But screw those kids as long as your precious snow flake is protected right?
What if being a bully was just name calling? What if it was a one time thing that just really upset the 9 year old. Kids have been known to overreact to being called fat, or stupid or poopoo head.

im on the dads side
Bullying sucks. I feel sorry for the younger kid. But if you agree with the dad you agree with child abuse. It's as simple as that.
Would I want to beat that kid's arse? Of course. Would I? No. Child abuse is child abuse and their is never a legitimate reason for it.
