Gotta find that work/life balance. Work less, play more, bitches be crazy, is my life motto.

That sucks man. Since you shouldn't have much financial burden as a single guy I'd say look at getting a less demanding job and then find some hobbies you really like. Volunteering is a pretty rewarding way to get outside your usual circle and maybe meet a chick who isn't bat-shite.

I'm sorta where you are, but I gave up dating to make life easier. Being in a relationship is draining to me. I keep my going out to the weekends, get laid, but don't try to date. I don't always get laid, but I do enough to keep me happy.
That is just what I have discovered works for me at this point in my life. My career has been steadily progressing along with income. That is important to me for future security. Me enjoying myself and life is more important and I like to have fun above all else. However, I just find women when it comes to the relationship part to be draining and stressful. Plus I'm selffish and still enjoy strange tail.

No, they're 100% nuts. It's just how much nuts can you take that's the question.
My suggestion to you though Luke would be to forget the nonsense and focus your attention on an interest or hobby that gives you purpose for living. Forget the nonsense for a little bit and get some renewed focus. Work is a MF for most of us and we all get in a rut. That's not unique to you. You just need to shift gears and shake it up.

You need some NSA pussy and a drug fueled weekend getaway. Vegas. Do you.

There's your problem -- you give women WAY too much credit!

same boat. I quit a few years ago. Single women in their 30's are damaged and broken looking for any guy to be their sperm donor. OT poor, so no money to buy younger women.
I don't know what women think they are selling. Spending $400 a month to get sex, where I can achieve the same result with 10 minutes and the internet, without the bitching or hearing her stupid problems. I can use that $400 bucks a month to travel or get a new vehicle. Dating is a pretty terrible return on investment

I hit that wall the first time in my thirties. Affected my work, I was at the peak of my profession and I fricking hated it. No amount of money was worth it so i moved on. Ended up taking a job where I made decent money but was completely in control of my time. Raised my kids myself. Sailed a lot. Enjoyed life. But eventually that job was lost to a hurricane and some incompetent ownership and I found out that I'd just spent most of a decade painting myself into a corner career wise.
Just took a VP position at the age of 47 that's either my dream job or the death of me. Starts next week.
Long story short, life is what you live through. So live it.

Buddy, I just want to let you know that you're doing much better than you think you are. And I don't mean that to diminish the feelings that you shared. But if I lost my wife, I'd probably crawl in a hole and never come out.
It takes years to recover from a loss like one's spouse. That you have managed to continue to thrive in your career and maintain any resemblance of physical fitness and a social life is pretty damn impressive.
So keep trucking, man! Just put one foot in front of the other, every day, and you'll break through to the other side eventually.

Sorry about your loss.
But you now have a great opportunity. Step 1 would be listening to the voice telling you something needs to change.
