These inspections sticker checkpoints seem to be occurring in the most crime ridden areas, right? Wait, no they aren't! How about setting up a inspection sticker checkpoint on Plank Road and Mohican and check for inspection sticker and insurance there? I am sure they could also cross check for outstanding warrants and bail violations. I guarantee they would be pick up enough would-be repeat offenders in violation for real crimes in a single afternoon that would show at least some perceptible decrease in crime in this city. The same goes for DWI checkpoints.

This is exactly how many people feel. Do we know for a fact these are not occurring in 70805? I am assuming they are not and are mainly in the "St. George" area where people will just pay the fine and not cause a scene.

Just an increased police presence in crime ridden areas will at least help detour it some. If cop cars are constantly riding up and down the streets of crime areas, you think there might be a slight reduction in crime? How about DWI check points in crime areas, not only would drunk drivers be caught they could catch real criminals with outstanding warrants or running drugs.

Just a thought, of course that makes me racist.
