That cd collection doesn't make you weird, except for one band in there, it makes you musically diverse

POD was my favorite of the nu-metal. They were the most consistent and longest lasting of all of them and didn't sell out until like....their 7th album. Fundamental Elements, Brown, Satellite, Payable on Death, Testify, Snuff the Punk....Angels and Serpents wasn't THAT bad....

They stayed true to their stuff for a while though, so you got to give them credit there.

Linkin Park is easily the worst of the nu metal now. They are trying so hard to be what they were and they're sucking at it bad.

Wasn't really familiar with this genre, but all those bands listed were god awful... Glad I was too old to have to be a party to that crap...

I had enough growing up with Hair Metal...

I hate to use the word "sellout" because every band does it. Still, POD was about as candy-coated as they come. They were groomed to be just like any of their predecessors. NOTHING made them original. They stayed true to being "factory made." They can Southtown you all they want...they aren't telling a new story via NU metal.

Completely agree, here, though. They are part of the Carson Daley teen crap and the beginning of MTV playing less and less videos. Their image was bought by 15 year olds who thought an Asian guy rapping over a hard guitar was cool. Hardly.

I have seen many metal and nu metal bands. The Deftones are somewhere in between because most of their songs are not "rap rock"...they out on a helluva show. I saw Coal Chamber, Godsmack, Staind, and The Used (among others)...all of which were very average at best. Coal Chamber put on the best show of them all. The energy to the shows is very simple. I also saw Incubus at the Varsity back in '99 and they were decent, but by no means did they capture me. Their showmanship is more energetic than Godsmack or Staind, for instance.

METAL>NU Metal.
