Let's talk Battery Life on Cell Phones

Ok, I'm going totally cliche here...
We can put a man on the moon(in the 60s no less), and have devised invisibility cloaks, but we can't make a battery that'll last longer than 1 day, if that?
I'm not super tech-savvy, but why can't there be a battery that lasts a week, what am I missing here?

If we're talking about cell phones, mine easily makes it a day with normal use.

I have a drone that has a battery 3x the size of the one in my iPhone. I can only fly it 7 minutes before completely killing the battery. The fact that my phone does last all day is amazing IMO.

I dont understand why people are needing of a cell battery lasting longer than a day. You are going to charge it at night, every night, even if it is suppose to last 2 days.
1 day is really all that is needed

They can last a week if you want to go back to phones this size...
You can't have EVERYTHING. You can't have the biggest, brightest screen, fastest processor, slimmest design, lightest weight, AND extreme battery life. At some point the laws of physics kick in.

Because people want phones that are thin&light, fast, and have good battery life. Pick two. Or, put another way, something has to give and a satisfactory balance has to be found. One day of use seems to be a good compromise.

Put todays batteries in the old nokia phones and they would probably last weeks

Cell Phones are using strong processors these days that use up a lot of energy. Battery companies are finding it hard to find ways to squeeze out the most out of these batteries. It's not easy for them to just make it better

If I turn off 4G and set my resolution to 30%, I can get a solid 2 days on my GS3. With heavy browsing(chrome and groupme) and brightness at 50%, I can kill it in 2-3hrs

all i require is that it lasts a day on heavy use. I charge every night anyway.

I charge my flip phone about once every 5 days and my iphone 5s about every 3 days.
