I quit smoking in 1996 and have never looked back. My favor smoker joke is that "I only smoke after I have sex. I smoke two packs a day. The smoking is fine but the sex is about to kill me." The hardest part of quiting smoking is that I used to love to smoke after ate, while I was drinking, and of course after sex. The great part about quiting is that I can jog without trying to hack up a lung.

There is no finer delight than an orgasm followed by a cigarette.

I quit in October 2011. I ended up making a habit of dipping while quitting. I never imagined myself enjoying dipping so I figured I'd swap over and then quit dipping as it seemed easier. Didn't work. But I dip far less than I smoked. I guess swapping a pack a day for 2 dips a day after lunch and after dinner is still a net gain....

I quit cold turkey in late 2012. I got tired of getting out of breath going up stairs. I quit and picked up running. I feel great now.

I quit about 10 years ago. Never picked one up again. I was around 7-9 packs a week.

I quit 2005. I was a 2pk per day smoker. I quit cold turkey using the nicotine lozenges for 2 months. At times, I think about having one., mostly when I'm bored. Sometimes, I smoke in my dreams. I wake up upset that I blew all that hard work.

I have picked up running, myself. I have run 2 10ks and numerous 5ks in the past year along with my weekly mileage.

When I am near smokers, I am amazed at how bad it smells now. It was something I once craved.

I quit smoking myself last August. I started smoking around 13 and I'm 31, so about 18 years I smoked. It was the best decision I've ever made but was also the hardest one to do but using an ecig certainly helped. I used to always have a cigarette with my morning coffee so drinking coffee in the morning afterwards was a real test for me.

Since I quit, I've started started running and working out and I feel great. Now I run 5 miles 3 days each week with 10 miles twice each week. It's good to finally be free.

I also quit in 1996, cold turkey. I've always thought that the suffering of CT is what kept me from back-sliding: once I got to the other side, I never wanted to go through that shite again.

On week 6 of quitting. Hardest thing I've ever done but I feel great and am still going strong.
