Headed there for a trip. How is it?

I know the general backstory: former industrial boomtown that lost most of its population and fell on hard times when the factories closed and moved overseas and the railroads stopped; grey, cold, and snowy.

But I am looking for some real info from people who have actually been there. TIA.

I think it's a former industrial town that's cold, grey and snowy.

Just don't eat at a Burger King when you visit.

Buffalo is a nice city during the summer, I like going there.

Cherrios factory is right next to the highway, can smell the flavor of the day
Go see Niagara Falls if you haven't been there, there's casinos and the Maid of the Mist tour plus lots of canadians
There's a AAA baseball team that has some cheap tickets, see if they're in town
For wings, go to both Anchor Bar and Duffs to see which you like better
If you want awesome mexican fast food, go to a Mighty Taco. It's much better than Taco Bell

Decent in the summer. Pretty depressing to see what seemed to be a once vibrant industrial town shut down. My ex wife is from there and her dad and grandpa always told me that like many other Northern towns, the government taxed businesses away to fund their welfare state.

There are plenty of beautiful small towns to visit within an hour so a drive through the surrounding countryside is worthwhile.

I've been to Buffalo for a conference once. I just remember everything that we wanted to do or places we wanted to eat at were on the Canadian side of the border.

Buffalo was depressing.

Buffalo is a complete shite hole!
Do NOT spend any time in Niagara Falls, NY right next door, which is even worse

Niagara Falls, Ontario is great place to go, lots of great golf if that interests you

I like it during this time of year.

Delaware Park is nice. I also went to some cool bars while there. Kinda downtown area.

Wife is from the Rochester area. We pass through Buffalo everytime we head to either Niagra or Toronto. Most of the descriptions thus far nail it pretty closely. Most New Yorkers consider it a dump.
