Pretty good perspective right there. Here's a few more names off the top of my head that give some perspective:

Corey Patterson
Felix Pie
Bobby Hill
Rich Hill
David Kelton
Brooks Kieschnick
Josh Vitters
Tyler Colvin

gotta make room for boni.

I hate barney, but I hope he can catch on with a major league team as a defensive replacement or just a glove guy on a strong team.

At least they let him get a week or two back from paternity leave before DFA-ing him.

I don't hate Darwin Barney at all. He doesn't loaf, he's a very good defender, and he seemingly never complains about anything. He just can't hit well. I hope he finds another team at the MLB level, preferably in the NL Central, but hopefully his career keeps going. Who knows, maybe he clears and accepts his assignment.

Bonifacio back from the DL in the corresponding move.

Well, there was a point in time where Felix Pie was pretty much considered the #1 Cubs prospect for a while.

Oh i remember...didn't he get called up because of soriano's hop that led to his quad injury. No doubt in my mind pie was moved too quickly up the ladder

you're a better man than me.

I'm sure he's a great fella who i'd enjoy having a beer with, but he's not a guy i want having a position on the team i cheer for. I mean saying he can't hit well is doing a disservice to guys that can't hit.

But i also hated tony campana too.

He's useful, though. Just not at the plate. And not playing everyday and getting everyday AB's.

I mean i guess. He's certainly a plus defender, but that minus bat i think overpowers his defense. If he still played short stop i think you could make a better argument that he's useful for a major league team.

Well we gotta move someone for wada to pitch tomorrow...seems like it's olt, lake, or 'mendy. I think there might be a small riot in the city if it was 'mendy.

It will have to be Lake. There's no place for Olt in the minors.

With Bonifacio back and Alcantara getting playing time in the OF as well it will be Lake. Dude is playing terribly and needs to get ABs in the minors.

He could play 1b. i don't know the ripple effect that'd have. But that's really neither here nor there. It's gotta be lake.
