I see tons of ecoboost on the road, there cant be that many with serious problems.

They are just fine, however it does add more expensive parts to an engine. Which can add more points of failure.

The ecoboost is a sweet engine though. Its looking like thats the way I am going

Just too early for me, glad it is working out good for you

Ford has sold something like 500,000 ecoboost trucks in the last 3 years

I would like to see how those hold up over the next 3 years or so, I am just more comfortable with more history

I think they are about what an what in length of history. Heck, Toyota could make a new engine and call it the 5.7 but it wouldn't have the history of the orignal 5.7

I thought they got better than that unloaded.I get 15.5-16 unloaded with my chevy 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0 gas. I dont feel so bad now about buying it.It doesnt sound like any of them are getting what the sticker claims.

Contrary to popular notion, the ecoboost is a thirsty SOB. Granted I've got 35s, but it still wasn't "good" before then. It hauls arse tho, so I'm cool with it.

I have the 5.0 4X4 and I get 15.2 MPG 60street 40 highway. I drive it like I stole it though so I know my mileage suffers from my lead foot.
