You went full tard that day, man. Proving why it's pointless to judge drafts same day.

Meh. I'm sure I had a reason for those comments that escapes me now. Because I know I was high on Springer as a college player.

ETA:
I followed that up with this:
quote:

I don't think people would look at the Springer pick as negatively if Jungmann wasn't available.

That was 3 years ago. I wasn't even in college yet. I had quite the quick reaction trigger

Ninja Looter had the best post in that thread. He said he loved the pick.

That dude was an absolute beast in College, got to see him live at the Super Regional in 2011. Made one of the better catches that I've ever seen when he had the bad hamstring.

A few things in my defense:

1. The use of emoticons and gifs make the comments a little more light hearted. You have to admit that throwing a dancing nana on top of the "trained as a gymnast" portion of the scouting report was pretty good.
2. McClane and Wade were running the show.
3. I did say he would still immediately be one of the top few prospects in the system.

For the hell of it I looked up the reaction to the George Springer selection in the 2011 MLB draft....

For the hell of it you say?

Most people don't research 3 year old threads "just for the hell of it". You have an agenda which screams, "I want to look smart by attempting to make others look stupid."

However, if you want to actually make a point in showing how smart you are with this thread, why don't you include your reactions to from that 3 year old thread? I'm thinking it doesn't exist?

There were actually some people on this board that were also frustrated with the Correa pick at 1:1 too.

It happens.

Jungmann may not be in the bigs yet, but he's not exactly struggling. His K:BB ratio just sucks dick.

he's not Springer though. Not even close.

I do expect Spring to level back out soon, but this tear he's been on has been ridiculous.

You have the K rate, naturally, but he does have Superstar quality. Just hope that by the time he is up for FA, the Astros are finally paying people and he doesn't bolt for NY.

Look on page one genius I did post what I said in that thread.

And this was meant to be in fun, but obviously you did not catch that. I know everyone who posted those remarks back then were Astro fans and being one myself it is fun to look back and see how wrong we were. Given the state the team was in with Uncle D and his band of merry idiots running the show I hold no blame to anyone for doubting any choice made by them.
