An eight year-old Louisiana boy died Monday afternoon after being injured in a boating accident on the Wolf River. It happened shortly after 4pm. According to Melissa Scallan with the Department of Marine Resources, three people were on a tube being pulled by a boat. When the boat went around a bend, the tube hit a tree. Witnesses said they saw the boy go under the water, but officials couldn't confirm whether or not the child was wearing a life jacket. The injured boy was rushed to Garden Park Medical Center. An ambulance picked him up from the Riverside Landing boat launch off Menge Avenue in Pass Christian.
