Why did the Gators play Macmullen like that?

Second baseman was shaded toward second and the right fielder was very shallow. It seemed like the opposite of what they should have done. Am I missing something? Home run made it moot, anyway.

Now that I think about it, McMullen bounces a lot of balls in the hole at 2nd, hence the shallow right fielder. A lot of his doubles/power are to the opposite field.

It seemed they wanted to pitch him away, away, and the pitcher missed his spot inside which is a pitch that MackMullen loves to pull.

Both played amazing defense but the Florida right fielder we watched all game. If it was a lefty he positioned himself far from the line. Righty and he played the line. Also yes very shallow on the homerun.
