Had a date 2 years ago with one woman who did NOTHING but talk about her ex BF.

I cut that one off about an hour in to the date. I told her she obviously was not ready to be dating.

The reasoning behind the single mom rule is that their life will revolve more around the child than it would you. Plus in long term you'd be expected to fill a role that's not yours.

The dating coworkers one is because everyone else will be up in your koolaid.

I cherry picked the rules I take to heart and yeah it makes you an a-hole. However when you figure out its more about psychology you can easily handle the given situation.

Horrible sign. Might as well just come out and say "I'm still into my ex, I'm just passing the time with you".

Just there for the free meal and nothing more. That's when its a good time to get up and leave them with the check.

Exactly. It's all about how well you get along with someone more than anything else IMO.

Nah. I have more class than that. We finished lunch and called it a day. She actually insisted on paying for hers.

It's classless to ignore someone who has given you their time to spend.

Tit for tat.

I agree generally. I just never deal in absolutes. Plus I'm the boss. And I make sure I have more shite on them than they have on me...theoretically. And I'd avoid single moms 99% of the time. I know one instance I would be more than happy to waive that rule for. One helluva woman.

So what does tat refer to in this instance? I know what a tit is.

Well I've never met the exception to either of those rules.

I probably wouldn't just get up and roll either because i don't have the balls to pull that off but I understand the reasoning.

What's the point of making a scene you know ?

When I called her out on not being over her ex and not being ready to date, I could see that realization on her face. I felt sorry for her.

Besides, lunch with her wasn't unpleasant or anything. We had a lot in common. She just wasn't in the right place.

You just win some and you lose some.

It means eye for an eye, yin for yang, Taoism.

Every action has a separate yet equal reaction. I am saying that if I am in that situation I have no problems getting up, canceling my order and leaving. I've done it a few times, I refuse to waste my time being around someone that is purely there to use me, even if it's for a cheap meal.
