It has opened with an 89 on the tomatoes and early reviews are raving how good it is.
If you pass on X Men: Days of Future past, you might want to check this out.

it's getting good reviews because apparently Tom dies a bunch in the movie and that really appealed to the audience

I'm looking forward to this movie.

For whatever reason, I have zero interest in seeing this. Doesn't look terribly interesting at all IMO.

Is this the story of what happens when the Scientology aliens come to earth?

Interesting. I am in the minority, but I generally like Tom Cruise in movies. His filmography is filled with solid movies.

Oblivion was solid entertainment i thought

up to 95% after 19 reviews...
it'll normalize, though...think it'll settle in the high to mid 70's at this pace.

I've thought since I saw the first trailer that it looked like a good movie.

I'm a sucker for anything involving time traveling or time loop movies, so I'm in.
Groundhog Day - May be my favorite movie of all time.
Run Lola Run - Liked it.
Source Code - Enjoyed it.
I even liked the horror movie Triangle that used this trope.

It definitely looks like my kind of movie from the previews.

it sounds like "the Source Code" crossed with "Groundhog's Day"

That sounds appealing to me.

You're not in the minority. There are still more people that like Tom Cruise than don't like him.
My thought on watching the trailers: this movie is like following a video game character from the inside. He has unlimited deaths, repeats the same content over and over until he masters it, and moves on until reaching an end boss.
That's not what the movie actually is, is it?

This movie looks great. I saw the preview waiting to see the new xmen movie (best superhero movie since TDK and it isnt even close) and it looked great
