I believe you. Mine was an opinion based on nothing but what I've seen.

Don't know his age, but he will be in p&g next year........

I think he ends up staying because he won't get drafted extremely high, but I think just based off of speed and covering a lot of ground in the outfield will help him get drafted pretty high.

I know for a fact he is staying. That's all I'm gonna say! He will be here all four years
Hurray! Perfect college outfielder. Great lead-off man.
Hope he saves his pro push for his senior year.

I love Laird, but no way he makes it at the next level. He stays 4 years.

"With his speed, I think he's a top 5 round pick. He may come back, butI think he's gone. "
Dude this is baseball, speed is the least utilized aspect of the game . He will never get drafted in the top 10 rounds . Love him as a college player but..........

to be fair, PM has mentioned him a a guy that potentially could leave. Says scouts like him a lot. But i agree with the people here, he is fast as frick, but does not have a MLB caliber arm. And he's really not that great of a hitter at this point. He has the tools to hit .340-.360 and if he does that as a JR then we can talk about this.

I always thought Laird would bulk up and get a lot stronger, and I don't understand why that hasn't happened. He just needs to live in the weight room.

There has never been a pro baseball player that throws like Laird. He's a good college player. 4 years at LSU.

It may not be this year, or even next, if he is set on staying in school. But given the current bonus pool system he probably will at some point.

FYI, the scouts may disagree. This draft list has Laird in the top 300 prospects (247), which would place him in the top 10 rounds.

Here's another listing that has him pretty high as well:

I hope he is staying. He is as clutch as any player LSU has, reminds me of DJ

He will walk out of lsu in 4 years with a degree.
I doubt he would want to be a career long minor league ball - I would bet he does law school or get into commercial real estate.
He is a great college player but the pro baseball odds are against him.
