I'd go with Southern Rock Opera.. Thats the one that got me in to believeing there was something more to them than a bunch of rednecks that used the word "butthole" in their songs...

Actually, there's some hints to what was coming on Gangstabilly (though I largely agree with you). The Living Bubba is still one of their best songs and I love Panties in Her Purse. But yeah, Southern rock Opera completely changed the perception of that band. They grew up in a big way.
