The guy being arrested was being stupid. He should have gotten his head thumped. The officer used a great deal
Of restraint and composure with the given circumstances

And yet none of that applies in this scenario. If anything that officer was dangerously patient with the subject.

Law Enforcement are specially trained to deal with these types of scenarios. The student was argumentative, but he was not threatening. There was absolutely no justification for violence in this scenario.

The cop was pissed because the student questioned his authority and he exacted his own set of consequences. I hope he's fired, and I hope he loses a civil lawsuit.

Not sure what you mean. I simply take offense to overzealous cops. Police are civilians, acting in a capacity to protect and serve the public. Nothing this officer did complies with the oath of honor he took when he graduated the academy.

Civilians (!) - like you and me - who we trust to uphold the law. They are not soldiers. They do not act as judge and jury. Their job is to enforce the laws (this requires that they know the law) while protecting and serving the public.

By any measure, this student was not a physical threat. The use of force is a violation of public trust and contrary to what we should demand from our police officers.

Cop was not trained to kick a drunk driver in teh nuts! Period!

He has been trained on other methods. Please take note, the cop had his taser pointed at the guy when he was told to sit....question, since when is it protocol to make someone sit on the side of the road? At this point, it was a DWI investigation, NOT an arrest! Until you are under arrest, you do not have to do anything to please a cop, no matter how stupid this sounds. I think he was stupid, but I'm under the understanding the cop has to cuff you or you are free to stand or sit where you please.

OT lawyers, what is the letter of the law? I think we all know it is assumed you have to listen to every single command, but no way that's true.

So if you are pulled over and a cop tells you to step out of your car, you are saying that you dont have too unless you are under arrest?
