Saw it with the wife last. I always loved the original (I know, gay) and while this was a well made flick with AWESOME visuals it didnt do much for me. Without spoiling it, this version of Maleficent is decidedly less evil. What made the original so great was that she was probably the best animated villain ever with no good in her at all.
Again though, it was well made and I dont get the negative reviews.

That was the whole point. I don't feel like it hurt the story at all. It's not supposed to be the same story.
