Is it as simple as kids are throwing harder at an earlier age than ever before?

I think sometimes sports progress faster than human bodies. That's what was happening in new school skiing a few years ago, where many of the top athletes were dying on the slopes or ending up in comas. It's still a big issue, but there are ways to mitigate the problems. For example, building the courses so speed isn't as high, etc.

With baseball, perhaps you lower the mound?
