I'm thinking of getting a Blaser 338 lapua and fitting it out.

40 Ruger 10/22s. Turn that 8 grand into 12 grand.
Now what would I buy. Hmmmm

The XS1 is the largest-caliber Precision Guided Firearm (PGF) available today. It offers the longest Tag Track Xact™ effective range of any PGF, making it the most accurate rifle on the market today.
This precision rifle's performance is driven by a bolt-action, .338 Lapua Magnum Surgeon™ XL action. The 27-inch, Krieger™ cut-barrel is fitted in an Accuracy International AX chassis with detachable Picatinny rail pieces.
The XS1 delivers our longest effective range: Tag Track Xact (TTX) to 1,200 yards. And it features our longest parallax-free zoom: 6 to 35X.
The precision scope streams video to Android and iOS smart phones and tablets. Wind speed is the only data you’ll manually input to the scope, using a toggle button.
The XS1 uses 300 gr. Sierra™ Open-Tipped Match XactShot™ ammunition by Barnes®, loaded to +/- 10 fps standard deviation muzzle velocity.

I wouldn't spend 8k on a rifle. I would build two semi custom rifles in a .264 win mag and 6.5x284 Norma for around $4,000 total. I would then put a $1,500 scope on them totaling $7,000 for both rifles. The remaining $1000 I would spend on strippers and blow

And with the $3700 left over, I'd get ammo for it.

Wouldn't be a blazer that's for sure.
Surgeon/GAP/SAC etc etc.
Put a Schmidt and Bender on it and call it a day.

I would go Nemo Arms 300 WinMag AR, with a Schmidt and Bender PmII-P. If you haven't checked this gun out yet google it.

Id set up a precision semi-auto .308 w/ very good glass and a match barrel.

I'd get a model 700, splurge on a $2500 scope, and spend the rest on ammo and Copenhagen.
Nobody has asked the question yet so I will be that guy. Why the frick would someone spend 8k on a rifle?
