Sure. Any 7th rounder COULD be a steal. I bet every team's message board has threads like this about their late round picks.

Rated 51st out of 220 prospects by NFLDraftScout.com...Carried a 7th-round free agent grade by NFLDraftScout.com... Clocked a time of 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, faster than any cornerback at the NFL Scouting Combine. Brother of Brandon Dixon, who was a sixth round draft pick of the New York Jets. Transferred to Northwest Missouri State from Joliet Junior College in 2012. Helped lead the Bearcats to the 2013 NCAA Division II Football Championship... Dixon played in 25 games with 22 starts over two seasons and recorded 51 tackles, six interceptions, and a recovered blocked punt for a touchdown... After recording 30 tackles and five interceptions as a junior, the Pompano Beach, Fla. native started all 12 games he appeared in as a senior and recorded 21 tackles, one interception, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

none of this says steal to me, much less even make the team. Fast is a small factor of what it takes to be a quality CB in the NFL. You must have vision, instincts, smarts, hip flexibility, quickness, VISION, INSTINCTS, SMARTS. It's one of the most difficult positions to play, because it is so easy to lose your man in coverage if you aren't paying attention and smart enough to read the play and stay on your guy.

I certainly don't think Robinson is a lock to make the 53

Me either.

Lewis, White, Jean-Baptiste, Baily....

Thats 4. I think they carry 5, with 1 on the Practice Squad.

After that, we have

Robinson, Davis, Sweeting (that have all seen time in the system).

I wouldn't hold out hope that any of the UDFA make the PS much less the roster.

Should be as interesting a battle as the WR battle.

I don't think he's a lock either, but if he's healthy (which he should be), then he should have a pretty decent shot.

In the end, it doesn't matter what "grade" they are given, it's how they perform on the field in the NFL. So, by the Saints bringing him in as an UDFA they thought "much" of him?

Right now you could say just about any player in the draft "would be a steal" outside of Clowney if they became a "great player."

We have a shitload of corners so it would take something special for him to stick.

He has the tools and measurables. But does he have the will?

Has just as much a chance to make it as him, but Dixon has much less room for mistakes.

You think Brandon Dixon, a UDFA from Northwestern Missouri, has just as much of a chance to make the 53 man roster as our 2nd round pick, Stanley Jean Baptiste? Come on, man...

You say "meh" to Robinson and Sweeting, which is fair, but we're talking about a UDFA from Northwest Missouri. I realize our track record with UDFAs, but you're saying meh to two guys who have made the 53 man roster in the past, and saying he has the same chance as our 2nd round pick.
