Is that guaranteed? So like...he's guaranteed a roster spot?

Not guaranteed, gets to keep signing bonus but has to make roster to get salary

As long as he is on the 53 man roster, he will make around half a mill a year. If he only makes practice squad, I'm sure that changes the salary.

No what's guaranteed is his $117 thousand (and change) signing bonus. Nothing more until he earns a spot on the roster. Then it's year by year.
