Obvious solution -- don't buy any more cheap guns. 
M&P, Glock, SIG or HK = good choices. Cery hard to buy one that's defective.
Kel-Tec, Sigma (or newer variants like their SD), baby Rugers, Diamondback, Hi Pernts, Charter, Taurus, etc. = lower tier guns (despite what your neighbor may have said and despite what you may hear or read on this forum).
