I'm surprised Atlanta hasn't been able to close the deal yet on this trade. Houston must have one hell of a price tag on that pick.

But they know they can get Mack from a lower spot and it would be a big pr hit if they took mack of clowney #1

I think its utter bullshite if they care about PR in this situation. Fire Bill O'brien and Rick Smith now if they are letting "PR hits" effect their decisions in this draft. Draft the best guy period. If they come out trying to explain to the fans their decision, then they need to be fired. If Mack who is they think, then fine. I think Clowney is the best guy, but I wont be lost with Mack. If they take JFF I forfeit my Texans fandom.

The issue isn't selecting the best player you think is available, it's how long do you think the best player will be available for that meets your pressing needs? If Mack is likely to be available at 4-6, trading back should be done.

From what I hear the trade may still go down. Houston just wants to make sure their player is there when atlanta picks. Dont be suprised if houston takes Clowney and then trades with atlanta after they select.

I really don't get all the love for mack, every year there is some defensive guy from a smaller school that shoots up the board.

Clowney is the pick, and if your not sold on him then trade or take Johnny

Hes a freak athlete and can fit multiple schemes. Pretty ignorant to hold the small school thing against him. Theres been a lot of good/great players from small schools

Not holding that against him, just wouldn't take him over Clowney.

He reminds me a lot of the similar rise aaron curry had in 2009

Curry was a beast in a BCS conference and a well known prospect since his freshman year. He didnt "rise", he was always regarded that highly. He just happened to be a bust.

The two situations are not remotely close
