No need to get a center this year. We will draft Mike Matthews (yeah, Bruce's other son) next year.
Is Powell better than Ruffus Johnson that we drafted last year?

So we are now targeting injury prone guys in the late round instead of best available?
We basically have our starters all penciled in already, other than Center. At this point we are going for guys with huge potential, who can also contribute right away on special teams.

I remember Payton stating last year that at this part of the draft you're just looking for upside/potential.

Chances are these guys are either practice squad or IR.

I'm pretty happy with our draft

I'm seeing the LB from Stanford, Skov, is in freefall. Thinking the guy from last year (Saints signed, then cut) is having influence on that?

Obviously the FO knows more than all of us ever will, but I hate the fricking picks today.
Eta: but I LOVE our first 2 picks

I for one like them:
We needed the LBer depth and took 2 guys that have starter potential
Sunseri was weird but he's a gamer and it never hurts to have more DBs

I'm interested to see some of our UDFA

Sooo... the Tennessee lineman, maybe? Antonio Richardson, if he's left? Seems like a steal at 6

i mean this just sounds like talking head speak. doesnt every player in the draft have "starter potential?" if anything these guys have more practice squad potential or IR with the injury history of fortt.
itll be interesting for sure. unfortunately reminds me of the wake forest guys.

Understood, but why not a Tripp who went right after instead of a guy with major surgery? Again, they obviously know what's up, but I just don't like the picks. There are names out there that many of us have been saying and are still sitting or have now been picked.
Interested to see who we grab UDFA.

I know exactly what happened. Twitter chatter was all about the ACC passing the SEC in picks. The fix was in.

Powell and Sunseri weren't great picks but they weren't awful
Fortt is going to be a starter within a few years if he can stay somewhat healthy

We're so deep that scenario may happen
What's wrong with developing them for a year?
You're not gonna find a day 1 contributor in these rounds(well rarely)

yeah i mean its whatever at this point. time tells all. just not exciting. at what point do you start looking at Vitt being an issue with our LBs?

im not sure how this goes to anything i said. nothing is wrong with developing players. a lot of people (myself included) just arent excited for these guys potential. obviously we all want things to work out at every pick. these just leave bigger question marks than most.

The best we can hope for is if he leaves for a HC somewhere
