My friend and I are working in Houma this week and wanted to know of any good spots along the shore or piers to fish within 30 miles or so..brought a lot of redfish rigs

Hmm, not too sure about side of the road fishing. I'd say maybe drive toward/to Cocodrie and stop somewhere off of Hwy 56. Going toward Cocodrie, the left side should be Bayou Little Caillou. We used to have a camp around there and we fished using a Kahle hook, 1 to 1.5' leader w/ a half or 3/4 oz sinker (guessing there)...used dead shrimp or cracked crab or croaker and fish the bottom. Would normally pick up a red or drum here and there. If you find an open area, the other side should be Lake Boudreaux and have more shallow grassy areas...could probably throw a popping cork there.

ETA: There is a floodgate somewhere right off the road my uncle has pulled some
nice fish from...no idea where it's at, but I'm thinking Dulac or Montegut/Pointe aux Chenes

Hop on Grand Caillou and head south to Dulac. I'm not sure where you can legitmally catch fish from land, but it's to closest fishing you can get to, and a really great fishery. The weather looks like garbage the rest of the week, so finding an area with clean water and/or out of the wind might be a bit of a problem. Good luck

eta: You might have some luck fishing off the road on 57 from Dulac to Cocodrie. Some great marsh off that road and some clearings to fish. Not a whole lot of pressure over their either.

I'm more familiar with Cocodrie than anywhere else. You can fish along both Boudreaux and Robinson Canals. Boudreaux Canal, right at the bridge has a long levee you can walk down. I know Robinson Canal has a few places you can do the same, right near the bridge.

The other option would be going down to Point Aux Chenes (sp?) and fishing along the highway near the Island. It's a ways down there though.

Good luck!

For side of the road, try Boudreaux Canal.

You can catch reds off the bank at the Dulac Pontoon.
