The guy sounds miserable.

Who tracks every expense they incur for over 12 years?

ETA: I guess he had no debt coming out of law school

Yea, I prefer the balance we've struck of spending now AND saving for later. It's not a plan that allows me to retire in my thirties, but considering I am going to live to 120, retiring at 65 isn't so bad.

eta: And God bless the angel he married that allows him to retire while she continues working.

He had 65k debt when he graduated law school.
