Of course you play knowing you are your partner has the deck. And I've even seen where someone may keep off cards to give the dealer more cards to look through. But now you're not only giving them the oppurtunity to hand pick out of the remaining cards, but you're giving power to meaninless cards that only the dealer has the chance to pick. No one else has attempted to build a hand of off cards.

It's dumb. It's like playing rock, paper, scissors, but lets give one person the ability to come back with sledghammer.
