I'll go both hands down on an upper end, business class Lenovo, HP Elitebook, or similar since this guy only puts one hand down on his MacBook.
Compare oranges to oranges. when you buy comparably-priced Windows machines, they almost always out-spec their Apple-made counterpart, they're more familiar to the typical user, and, in my experience, more versatile machines by a pretty fair margin. I don't care for my MacBook very much at all. It's relegated to specific-activity use 90+% of the time and doesn't really achieve that at as high a rate as I would like. I will almost definitely not buy another Apple computer based on my experience. For all I hear and read about hardware, it was "meh" at best and has had MORE serious hardware failures than my 7 year old Gateway laptop. And an equal number of hardware failures to that laptop + a 9 year old Sony desktop.

HO-LEE-shite. Nice to meet you Doc, someone that finally gets it.
For the record, I've NEVER had a virus on my laptop, and I routinely have kept them 3-5 years each time. My Latitude 6540 is a nice piece of equipment that is fully compatible with everything I do.
Don't run IE and don't open bullshite email attachments from people you don't know and you'll likely never get a virus or malware. Don't install every fricking MP3 stealing software that comes along and your machine will likely never slow down.
